Summary:
The Quality Control Manager & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the organizational compliance with the established Quality Management System (QMS), associated standards, accreditations and adherence to customer requirements.
Duties /
Responsibilities:
Provides organizational leadership in support of established Quality Management System (QMS) including the pursuit of and continued compliance with established quality standards, industry accreditations, EH&S guidelines, and customer expectations.
Maintain plant wide quality programs including internal and external audits, management reviews, reporting of non-conformances, continuous improvement and record keeping supporting ISO 9001 certification Reviews, research, and provides guidance to appropriate parties relating to industry and customer supplied specifications.
Responsible for ensuring proper calibration of all measuring and testing equipment used in the manufacturing process.
Oversight of internal and outside vendor product testing and inspection processes including failure responses and the preparation and communication of results to appropriate parties.
Facilitates the documentation control process including the creation, review and revision to operational documents including, but not limited to procedures, work instructions, safety guidelines and company policies.
Conducts internal and external audits relating to quality standards (ISO), industry accreditations, customer approvals and EH&S guidelines including the communication of results and appropriate recommendations.
Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, including Cal OSHA rules and regulations and EPA (OSHA logs, PSM's, forklift training, and any other regulatory safety related programs) and other EH&S requirements.
Plans and conducts regularly scheduled and special safety meetings, designs safety training and re-training programs as required for existing employees.
Coordinates with HR on new employee orientation and the reporting and recording of employee safety events.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Technical Field, Business, or similar discipline, preferred or commensurate level of work-related experience.
Minimum 2-3 Years' experience in quality related field with a proven track record of building ISO, or other quality systems.
Solid understanding of Quality Assurance process and strategies Strong written, oral and presentation skills Functional knowledge of metal working processes, metal property testing and inspection techniques.
Required Industry Skills:
basic metallurgy, basic blueprint reading, general knowledge of open die forge shop processes and procedures.
Required Computer Skills:
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP, or another database program Eligible to work in the U.
