Job Description
Under the direction of the Program Site Coordinator, the Program Leader is to supervise daily activities, assist with instruction, and provide support for the after school program.
Qualifications Required
1.Education:High School diploma or equivalent or in High School with a 2.0 or higher grade point average, and is willing to participate in professional growth activities.
2.Experience:Past experience working with children in an educational setting.
3.Knowledge:A basic understanding of the activities and development of an elementary/secondary classroom and have the ability to work closely with children and adults.
4. Ability to:Must have the ability to speak, read, and write in English in a job related setting.
Bilingual skills which benefit the District, may be desired.
5. Required:Must meet the NCLB requirements. Required Fingerprinting and TB test.
Typical Duties:
1.Supervise student activities on a daily basis to assure students can operate in a safe, orderly environment both in and out of the classroom.
2.Provide homework and tutoring assistance, enrichment and/ or recreation activities to students in ways that measurably improve their learning and social skills and raise their self-confidence.
3.Help keep classroom/areas organized and neat.
4.Be able to lift, carry, and distribute supplies as needed.
5.Be knowledgeable and capable of operating technological equipment including copy machine, projectors, VCR's camcorders, photographic and digital cameras, and basic computer use.
6.Maintains confidentiality regarding students and school records.
7.Participate and work closely in team that includes school administrators, teachers, school staff, parents, students and volunteers. Participates in staff training and development.
8.Participating in professional development activities, including training workshops, coaching, and facilitated meetings.

9. Employing positive classroom management and discipline techniques.
8.Performs all other duties as assigned that reasonably relates to regularly assigned duties in relation to those fixed and prescribed duties developed by the Governing Board to the individual employee's Job Classification. (Ed. Code Section 45109 and 45110)

Sufficient physical ability, strength, mobility, stamina to climb, bend, stretch, stand, kneel, walk, stoop, extend legs, and stamina to lift, carry, push or pull objects, which weigh 50 pounds.
Physical ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
